Yokohama, Japan

The Fifth Asia Pacific Clean Air Partnership (APCAP) Joint Forum was held in Yokohama, Japan, on 20-21 March 2025. About 200 air quality stakeholders joined the discussions on how to increase investment for clean air. The AIT RRC.AP participated and served as the panelist in session 4: Thematic discussion on technology and innovative solutions to improve air quality.

Bangkok, Thailand (Hybrid)

The Measurable Action for Haze-Free Sustainable Land Management (MAHFSA) Programme's Closing and Policy Dialogue on Towards A Haze-Free Southeast Asia: Forging Climate Resilience and Sustainability was held on 18 March 2025 in hybrid mode. The event aimed to share best practices, discuss policy reforms, explore innovative solutions on building climate resilience and sustainable development, and to reflect and share MAHFSA Programme's achievements, lesson learned, and way forward in tackling fire and transboundary issues in the region.

The AIT RRC.AP successfully conducted a Capacity Building Workshop on Preventing Recycling-Related Plastic Leakage on March 11-12, 2025, in Iligan City, Philippines. The workshop, held under the CaRMPAC Project, brought together over 90 key stakeholders to strengthen local and industry-led strategies for plastic waste management.

AIT RRC.AP participated in the Hybrid Bioeconomy Dialogue on Bangkok's Pollution on 10 March 2025. Dr. Vanisa Surapipith, AIT RRC.AP's Head of Air Pollution Cluster, provided her insight on Air Pollution and Agriculture in Bangkok Metropolitan Region by addressing the source contribution of PM2.5 in Bangkok and the completed project activities on the development of a forecasting system for reducing PM2.5 from open burning activities at the local administrative level in Thailand.

The AIT RRC.AP successfully conducted the Regional Training Workshop on "Enhancing Climate and Disaster Risk Resilient Cities in Asia and the Pacific" from 18 to 20 February. The three-day capacity-building training program brought together 45 participants from India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. City Mayors, city officials, urban planners, resilience experts, and representatives from partner organizations engaged in strengthening climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction strategies for cities across the region.

Thailand GISTDA invited the AIT RRC.AP to join the ASIA-AQ Science Team meeting with the objective to share the findings and views among the task-force committee for the development of Thailand Synthesis Report for the ASIA-AQ International project, focusing on synchronizing the observation data from satellites and 2 aircrafts flying to conduct the transboundary air pollution research over South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand during January – March 2024.

Pathumthani, Thailand

A five-day intensive training on Laboratory Operation for Methylmercury Analysis in Human Hair, Total Mercury Analysis in Human Hair and Skin Lightening Products, and Hydroquinone Analysis in Skin Lightening Products was held from 13 to 17 January 2025 at the AIT IDEA EEM Laboratory, the training was organized under the Project for Promoting the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
