After the success of two previous editions of the Youth Energy Academy (YEA), the YEA gathered 20 young women and men, who connected as six teams from five countries in South and Southeast Asia. In its virtual modality, YEA's innovative 7-day programme combined theoretical, technical sessions, and virtual site visits with in-person, practical do-it-together workshops for teams to build simple systems.

The ASEAN Dissemination Workshop on the Substitution and the ESM of Mercury-containing Medical Measuring Devices was convened on 28 September 2021. The workshop was a wrap up project activity of the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) project titled "Development of Capacity for the Substitution and the Environmentally Sound Management (ESM) of Mercury-containing Medical Measuring Devices" implemented in the Philippines and Indonesia.

A virtual training workshop on the "Capacity Development Programme on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries" was organised on 13-17 September 2021. During the 5-days training workshop, a total of 18 lectures were delivered by the globally known experts. It was attended by more than 200 participants from 29 Asian countries and other parts of the world.

A webinar on "Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation: from Concept to Implementation" was organised to help identify opportunities for NbS in adaptation to climate change, particularly, having a common understanding and interpretation of NbS concepts and take advantage of existing traditional ecological knowledge in NbS application. The 90-minute-long webinar gathered 175 environment enthusiasts of various affiliations from 25 countries around the world.
The EANET Awareness Workshop in 2021 was organized virtually on 6 September 2021, in partnership with the Republic of Korea. The event gathered over 200 participants from 16 countries and focused its discussion on international cooperation on acid deposition and air pollution. The workshop was aimed at increasing public understanding of regional acid deposition issues while reflecting on the work achieved by the EANET in the last 20 years.

The Working Group Meeting in 2021 Session 2 for the EANET (WG2021-2) was convened virtually from 18-20 August 2021. Over 70 participants representing the EANET member countries, the Secretariat and Network Center for the EANET, gathered-together to discuss the process of the expansion of the scope of the EANET, among other important topics. The participants shared their views and ideas on the development of a Draft text of the Supplementary Document to the EANET Instrument, in the form of an Annex. The Project Fund Mechanism and the Work Programme and Budget for the EANET in 2022 were also discussed.

Situation Assessment of Mercury-Containing Medical Measuring Devices in the Philippines
The Situation Assessment of Mercury-Containing Medical Measuring Devices (MCMMDs) in the Philippines presents 1) relevant statistical information on the use, storage, and disposal of mercury-containing thermometers and sphygmomanometers in licensed hospitals in the Philippines and 2) an analysis of the current policy framework for the management of MCMMDs and its implementation gaps in accordance with international and national guidelines and national targets for the phase-out of MCMMDs.
Technical Guidelines for the Substitution and the Environmentally Sound Management of Mercury-Containing Medical Devices in Indonesia
The contents of these guidelines are to provide guidance on the elimination of mercury-containing medical devices in the form of thermometers and sphygmomanometers and/or substitution of mercury-containing medical measuring devices with alternative non-mercury devices that are friendly to human health and the environment. This manual also provides guidance on the steps that must be taken by stakeholders from the Healthcare Facility to the authorities in the withdrawal, collection and final handling, including monitoring and reporting.

This report includes a brief national profile of Indonesia, assessment design and methodology, data collection and analysis results with inventory development, gap analysis between existing policy framework and actual practices in the field and requirements of the relevant conventions, as well as conclusions and recommendations.
