The training on climate change downscaling using the S8 downscaler tool was convened by RRCAP in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 8-9 December 2021. The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of the climate research staff and institutions on the use of the S8 downscaler tool along with the basic understanding of climate atmospheric science, climate change, climate change projection, and downscaling techniques to build a strong knowledge foundation on climate change downscaling.

RRC.AP conducted a 3-day virtual online training on Laboratory management for mercury survey and monitoring. The training is a part of the slated activities under the ongoing project "Promoting Minamata Convention on Mercury by making the most of Japan's knowledge and experiences" by UNEP. It aims to support participating countries to improve their national mercury-related information base towards implementing mercury management, especially in the areas of information exchange, awareness and education, research development and monitoring.

A Webinar on "Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030): Engaging Academia and Faith Actors to Strengthen Cities Resilience" convened on 25 November 2021 that was attended by 59 participants from 19 countries globally. The 105 minutes set the scene by reminding participants that to achieve objectives of the Sendai Framework, Paris Agreement, and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development it is crucial to engage all stakeholders including academia and faith actors at all levels.

The Twenty-third Session of the Intergovernmental Meeting (IG23) on EANET was convened to make an important decision on the expansion of its scope that gathered over 70 representatives of the EANET participating countries. This historical progress required the development of a text supplementary document to the EANET Instrument, to define the scope of expansion and the target substances to be included in its activities.

The Twenty-first Session of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC21) of the EANET was organised to discuss the scientific and technical matters related to its activities. Over 60 members of the Scientific Advisory Committee and/or their representatives from the Participating Countries joined the meeting. The RRC.AP had actively participated and greatly supported the organisation of this meeting.
Third Edition of the Youth Energy Academy a Success: Supporting youth to take climate action

After the success of two previous editions of the Youth Energy Academy (YEA), the YEA gathered 20 young women and men connecting in six teams, from five countries for an innovative programme that combined theoretical and technical virtual sessions and tours with practical, in person, do it together activities. The week considered the concepts of decentralised renewable energy technologies and their contribution to address energy-related challenges in communities.
