The Third Global Waste Management Conference was held on 29-30 March 2022 in a virtual format with the theme "Advancing Towards Zero-Waste Cities". Mr. Borongan presented one of the plenary addresses - 'Investment Opportunities in Waste Management in ASEAN' during the opening and plenary session. Similarly, Mr. Borongan was privileged to moderate session 6: Waste-To-Energy: Tackling the Waste Crisis & Meeting Climate Change Target. Mr. Solomon Huno moderated the open forum on 'Industry Leaders Forum: The Essential of Advancing Towards Zero Waste Cities'.

During 1st quarter of 2022, the AIT-RRC.AP has collaborated with the Bhutan office of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to organize Virtual Training for Bhutanese climate action planning practitioners (National Designated Authority, staff of Direct Access Entities, Civil Society, and domestic consultancies) while piloting the recently developed eLearning course on Developing Concept Notes for the GCF Simplified Approval Process with a cohort of 35 participants from Bhutan.
The post-YEA mentoring series was designed to steer the first stages towards developing and implementing the ideas of the Pico-Streamers team that leveraged their award of EUR 1000 during the YEA 2021, as sponsored by the Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS-RECAP). The mentoring series comprised of four sessions, each of 60 - 90 minutes convened once a week between 11 - 31 March 2022.

The Sixteenth Session of the Intergovernmental Meeting of the Malé Declaration on Control and Prevention of Air Pollution and its Likely Transboundary Effect for South Asia (MD/IG16) was organized virtually on 12 January 2022. The major discussion was focused on the revival and the review of the draft Strategy and Work Programme for Phase-VII (2022-2026). About 40 participants representing the National Focal Points (NFPs) and the National Implementing Agencies (NIAs) of the Malé Declaration member countries, as well as representatives from various international organizations, participated in the meeting.
The RRC.AP had recently published the Workshop Report of the "Capacity Development Programme on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries". The AIT RRC.AP had recently published the Workshop Report of the "Capacity Development Programme on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries". The report can be downloaded. The report also published by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) on their website as the project was funded by the APN. The programme mainly aimed to build the capacities of the ASEAN member countries on air quality management and emission reduction of PM2.5. This e-publication is a compilation of the session outcomes of the capacity building workshop that was held from 13-17 September 2021 organized by the AIT RRC.AP.
